The "SCHWYZ", a bulk carrier of the handy-size class, was laid down at the Tsuneishi Zosen Shipbuilding Company Ltd. Yard in Numkuma, Japan on January 25th 1989. She was launched as the "ORIENT RIVER" on March 20th 1989, delivered to her owners, the Lepta Shipping Co. Ltd. Of Panama on June 16th 1989, and registered under the Panamanian flag. The Orient Marine Co. Ltd. (Toyo Senpaku K.K., Tokyo), Tokyo managed her until 1991. IMO No: 8901781. Official No: 19261-YJ. Her call sign at that time was 3EJK7.

In 1991 the ship was sold to the Callisto Maritime SA, Panama, remaining registered in Panama. From then on she was managed by MMS Co. Ltd., Tokyo. Renamed "AZTLAN". Official No: 19261-PEXT1.

Masscapital S.A. of Fribourg (Management: Acomarit Services Maritimes S.A., Genève) bought the ship on February 15th 1995 and registered her under the Swiss flag as the "SCHWYZ". The transfer to the new owners took place in Inchon (South Korea). The "SCHWYZ" is a sister ship of the "AVENTICUM".

The "SCHWYZ" is driven by a Mitsui B&W 6L60MCE with 6 cylinders and an output of 9’680 hp, equivalent to 7’118 kW. A third auxiliary generator has been retrofitted by the present owners. The "SCHWYZ" has four 30-tonne electro-hydraulic deck cranes. Official No: 143. Call sign: HBLG.

18.12.1996: The management changed to Massoel Gestion Maritime S.A., Genève.

Since July 2002 the Management name was restyled into Massoel Gestion S.A., Genève.

2003: Sold in June 2003.

17.10.2003: Delivered to Oceanic Transport Ltd. (Management: Ocean Bulk Carriers Ltd., London), London and renamed "ENGLISH EMINENCE" at Dubai, UAE. Official No: 908024. Call sign: MCPV9.

07.2004: Sold to Shanghai Time Shipping Co. Ltd. (Management: China Shipping Guangzhou Ship Management Co Ltd., Guangzhou, Guangdong Province), Shanghai and renamed "YIN PENG". Call sign: BPDR.
