The "SABINA" was laid down on 26.06.1998 as GRETA C at Damen Galati Shipyard, Galati (Yard No. 927-804) and launched in Romania on 03.12.1999 as SABINA for Carisbrooke Shipping Plc., Cowes. IMO/Lloyd's Register No.: 9205718. On 08.01.2000 she left Galati in tow, of m/tug "Koral" (76) (Valletta), still with her homeport Cowes painted on her hull, and arrived Delfzijl on 01.02.2000. The day after the SABINA was towed to B.V. Scheepswerf Damen, Hoogezand, Foxhol by the tugs "Waterpoort and "Knight Buster" for fitting out. On 13.05.2000 towed from Bodewes Volharding to Delfzijl and sailed on 23.05.2000 for sea trials. Drydocked in Delfzijl on 24.05.2000 and sailed on the 04th June 2000 for Rotterdam.

She was handed over to her owners, the M/V "SABINA" A.G. of Berne on June 7th 2000 in Rotterdam at the Parkkade, and named on the same day. Baptized by Mrs. Sabina Eichmann. Her maiden voyage took her from Rotterdam to St. Petersburg in Russia, which she reached on June 13th 2000. She is managed by Carisbrooke Shipping Ltd., Cowes. Since 01.09.2002 the management has changed to Enzian Shipping A.G., Schlieren. Since April 13, 2006 Enzian Ship Management A.G., Schlieren.

The main engine is a MAK 9-M32 with an output of 4077 hp or 2999 kw. Thanks to moveable bulkheads and decks the ship can be used as a combi freighter (tweendecker), to carry containers, bulk or break-bulk cargo. She is equipped with a 60-tonne SWL (Safe Working Load) Liebherr crane as well as a 10-tonne gantry crane for moving her hatch covers. Official No.: 157. Call sign: HBEB.

In March 2003 m/v SABINA was hit by icebreaker TARMO during icebreaking asisstance on her way to Tallinn in the Baltic Sea. SABINA sustained minor damage.

12.01.2007 while on voyage from Szczecin for Alexandria with a coal cargo touched the seabed near the Swedish coast in bad weather and sustained some bottom damage.
After inspection in Alexandria, proceeded to Constanta, Romania for extensive hull repair. About 130 tonnes new steel had to be used to make good the sustained damage. Since May 15th, 2007 again in service.

(21.06.2016) On the Swiss freighter "Sabina", 5968 GT (IMO-No .: 9205718) broke on June 19th. a fire in the engine room in front of Mulnik at 12.20 p.m. Shortly before, the ship had left the port of Swinoujscie heading towards Stettin and had a cargo of phosphate fertilizer on board. The Strazak-26 fire brigade was alerted, but then the crew managed to extinguish the fire with on-board resources. Since the ship was temporarily unable to maneuver, it got stuck on the bank for a short time. Two tugs then pulled the damaged vessel back to the port, where it was moored at the chemical quay and stayed for the following days

Sold at Tuzla, Turkey on June 1st. 2017 to Transnord Industry Co Ltd. Valletta (Management: Tango Shipping & Trading Ltd. Istanbul. Registered at Avatiu on the Cook Islands and renamed TANGO RIO. Official N. n.a. Call sign: E5U3289.

In November 2020, the flag was changed to the Vanuatu register. New home port Port Vila. Callsign YJWV9.

Left Naples on July 8th, 2021 and entered Delfzijl on July 22nd, 2021. Moored at the shipyard in Vlissingen on February 8th, 2021 with engine problems. On March 9th, 2021 the tug SEA JULIETT took the TANGO RIO at the DSV shipyard in Vlissingen Ost to tow it to Tuzla, Turkey. Arrived in Tuzla Anchorage on September 29, 2021 and anchored.
