The Société d'Armement Maritime Suisse-Atlantique S.A. Lausanne ordered three identical bulk carriers in Japan in 1974. The second ship was launched on 09.04.1975 and was christened DIAVOLEZZA by Mrs. E. André. Commissioned on 30.06.1975 and registered under Swiss flag (call sign: HBFA, registered owner: Oceana Shipping AG, Chur, official No.: 93). The DIAVOLEZZA had two sister ships, the CRUZEIRO DO SUL and the last delivered ROMANDIE. These vessels had 5 holds and 5 hydraulic cranes (2 x 15 tons and 3 x 10 tons lifting capacity).

At the beginning, the DIAVOLEZZA was under the command of Captain Ch. Pichard, and of course the radio operator P. Haldemann and the Chief Steward A. Ferriroli sailed with him. Most of the crew of 31 were still Swiss at that time, the rest were some Yugoslavians. The first voyage was to Newcastle and Port Kembla in Australia and back to Hong Kong and Manila, the second voyage was to Western Australia, Geraldton and Freemantle, then up to Nakhodka (in the Russian Far East) and to Japan. The freighter sailed worldwide.

On 05.03.1982 she was taken over in time charter by Nordic Bulkers A/B, Gothenburg (Broström-Group A/B). She was handed over in the Japanese port of Shimizu and given the charter name NORDLAND. After three and a half years this charter was terminated and the ship was returned to her owners in Shanghai on 09.12.1985, when the ship was given back her original name DIAVOLEZZA. The home port of Basel was apparently affixed to the stern in French "Bâle" (still permitted at that time, in one of our three national languages, but not in English).

From 1986, the shipowner's name changed to Suisse-Atlantique Société de Navigation Maritime S.A. Lausanne.

Sold in Singapore on 14.04.1988 to the Greek company Silver Carriers S.A. Piraeus and registered under the flag of the Bahamas, home port: Nassau. Renamed SILVER SUCCESS (registered owner: Phildraw Ltd, call sign: C6DR7, official No.: 715237).

Sold on 07.03.1990 to Union Marine Enterprises S.A. Piraeus, formerly Yemelos Bros. Marine Enterprises S.A. a company founded in the 1960’s. The vessel was named PARASKEVI M.Y. and was now registered in Piraeus under Greek flag (official No.: 9636, call sign SZMW, registered owner: Mayflower Shipping & Trading Inc. Panama). New tonnage measurements GRT: 19,669, NRT: 14,458, DWT: 35,430.

Sold for demolition in 2001 to a company owned by the Indian Shiv Corporation and arrived in Alang for scrapping on 02.10.2001.
