11.02.1974 damaged and abandoned by her crew 80 miles south-west of Lizard on a voyage from Karachi to Birkenhead by heavy seas after her hatchcovers floated off on No. 1 hold and she began to sink. The crew was airlifted by a British Sea King helicopter together with two German Sea Kings (89+51 and 89+55) from their lifeboats, on a sea with waves thirty to fifty feet high - despite these terrible weather conditions, the ship's entire crew was saved.
The LUTRIA itself was taken in tow by the Dutch tug "Hudson" and towed stern first to the save harbour anchorage Carrick Roads off Falmouth with her deck awash and 10 degrees list to starboard (14.02.1974). After pumping out proceeded to Birkenhead for discharge, and later repaired by Blohm & Voss, Hamburg.

19.12.1980: Struck by m.v. "Giannakis" off Piraeus in heavy weather and damaged.
03.01.1981: Due an electrical short-circuit went on fire, to prevent her from sinking beached at Ambelaki. Declared as constructive total loss. It was reported that she has meanwhile demolished.
