Delivered in December 1985 to West African Gulf Associated (Management: Feronia International Shipping (F.I.S.H.), Paris), Kingstown, St. Vincent & Grenadines. Lloyd's Register / IMO No. 8417510. Named of a river and a province at the southern boarder in the interior of Gabon. The N'gounie flows from the south to the north and ends at Lambarené as a tributary of the mighty Ogouée river flowing into the Atlantic Ocean at Port Gent.

The "N'GOUNIE" (and her sister vessels "NYANGA", "IBENGA", "NIARI") has 3 main engines, the port and starboard engines drive the two propeller shafts and the centre engine has 2 PTO's (Power Take Offs), the forward PTO drives the hydraulic power pumps for the bow thruster and for the towing winch, the aft PTO drives the large FiFi-pump (fire fighting pump) of 600 m3/h capacity. The vessel has 2 fire monitors on top of the wheelhouse for external fire fighting, both can be used either for water alone or can produce foam, if necessary. Two "dispersant spray booms", 6.0 m long, one port and one starboard are provided on the upper deck to combat oil pollution. Tank capacity for dispersant 8.0 m3

16.02.1999: Purchased by N'Gounie Shipping Ltd. (Management: ABC-Maritime A.G., Nyon), Kingstown. Not renamed.

On 22.12.1999 while idle at the anchorage of Port Gentil, the "N'GOUNIE" together with "IBENGA" fought a fire on the jack-up drilling rig "GLOMAR HIGH ISLAND III". The fire broke out in the rig's machinery spaces and the quick intervention of the two vessels prevented a total loss of the rig.

On 18.01.2000 while the "N'GOUNIE" was in the port of Soyo, Angola, she fought and extinguished another fire aboard the Belize flagged, small cargo vessel "BLUE ORION", lying alongside the pier at Soyo.

In summer 2008 the vessel was sold to Rangk Ltd., Lagos, Nigeria and the "N'GOUNIE" arrived in Lagos on 10.07.2008 and was handed-over to her buyers same day. Later it was reported, that the vessel was renamed "MC C TURF" and sails under Nigerian flag, see also www.rangkltd.com . Official No. SR1170. Call sign n/a.
