This self-propelled accommodation/work barge "ELISA" was built in the Gelibolu Shipyard S.A., Gelibolu, Turkey. The keel was laid on 01.09.2005 and the launching was on 13.05.2006. The delivery to her owners Elisa Shipping Ltd., Kingstown was on 14.06.2006 (IMO No: 9381689, official No: 9900, call sign: J8B3428) and she sailed on the same day from the shipyard to Port Gentil (Gabon) with one short call made in Gibraltar.

The dimensions of the barge are 70.00 m long, 20.00 m beam, 4.30 m deep with a draft of 2.30 m when fully loaded. She has a lightweight of 1801 metric tonnes and a dead weight of 976 metric tonnes.

The "ELISA" has a diesel-electric propulsion plant with 2 electric azimuth thrusters at the stern, made by HRP, Holland, giving a power of 525 kW each. A tunnel thrusters of 270 kW is fitted on the bow. Four diesel generator sets, manufactured by Moteurs Bauduoin, Marseille, type: M26SR, supply the electrical power (A.C. 3-phase, 400/230V, 50Hz) for the propulsion and the barge's hotel and ancillary requirements. Each set produces 571 kW.

The barge has an 8-point mooring system, each Flipper-delta anchor has a weight of 5.50 metric tonnes and each anchor wire has a diameter of 38 mm, is 1600 m long and has a weight of about 9.00 metric tonnes. A crane with a lifting capacity of 9.50 metric tonnes is installed on the starboard side of the work deck.

The "ELISA" offers accommodations for a total of 84 persons, including marine and catering crew. The marine crew consists of 10 persons and the catering staff, supplied by a catering company, consists of 10 to 12 men, depending on service requirements on board.

After her arrival in Port Gentil, Gabon in July 2006 the "ELISA" commenced a 5-year charter with Total Gabon in an oil field about 30 nautical miles south of Cape Lopez. She is moored next to a production platform and is used to accommodate the platform staff.
